Driving the Amalfi Coast without the stress

Colourful cliffside town on the Amalfi Coast

The Amalfi Coast is stunning and operationally spicy. A car can be freedom or a rolling argument with a bus on a cliff.

Take the car if…

  • You travel outside peak summer hours.
  • Your hotel has confirmed parking (get it in writing).
  • You are comfortable with narrow roads and assertive local driving.

Skip the car if…

  • You visit in July–August with no parking plan.
  • You mainly want Positano / Amalfi / Capri — ferries and buses cover a lot.
  • Driving abroad on the right already stresses you out.

The coast will still be beautiful if you arrive by boat. Your shoulders will thank you.
