Before you fly
- Confirm your phone is unlocked and eSIM-compatible.
- Buy a plan sized for maps + messaging, not fantasy livestreaming.
- Install the eSIM at home; activate on landing if the provider recommends it.
- Keep your home number’s SIM/eSIM for bank texts if needed.
If eSIMs confuse you, a simple airport or city SIM still beats surprise roaming. Just avoid tourist kiosks with mystery exchange rates for cash top-ups.
