Travelling with family

Tips for a fun and stress-free voyage for all ages.

Travelling with family
A little planning.
A lot to look forward to. ♡

The essentials

Start with a little inspiration

Compare family facilities, cabin layouts, age policies and activities with the cruise operator. Think about travel days, meal routines and what each traveller needs to feel comfortable. Check supervision arrangements, accessibility and current onboard policies before you book.

Prepare for embarkation

Read the cruise line’s instructions for arrival time, check-in, luggage labels and required documents. Keep essentials, valuables, medication and anything you may need before your cabin is ready in a small day bag. Think through the first afternoon on board, including a layer, swimwear or a change of clothes if useful. If you are travelling to the port the same day, allow a comfortable buffer for the journey.

Plan port days at your pace

Look at each port’s location, the distance to places you want to see and the time you need to return. Decide whether an organised excursion or an independent visit suits your group, and check what transport will be available. Keep the ship’s all-aboard time clearly noted, with a margin for getting back. A lighter plan can leave room to enjoy the waterfront, local food or an unhurried walk.
